Henri Cartier-Bresson
Brought into the world in Chanteloup-en-Brie, Seine-et-Marne, Henri Cartier-Bresson fostered areas of strength for a with painting from the get-go, and especially with Surrealism. In 1932, in the wake of expenditure a year in the Ivory Coast, he found the Leica - his camera of decision after that second - and started a deep rooted energy for photography. In 1933, he had his most memorable presentation at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York. He later made films with Jean Renoir. Taken wartime captive in 1940, he got away on his third endeavor in 1943 and hence joined an underground association to help detainees and escapees. In 1945, he shot the freedom of Paris with a gathering of expert columnists and afterward recorded the narrative Le Retour (The Return). |

It's a way of life"

After watching this video i found out a few specific things that Cartier-Bresson does and doesn't do when taking photographs, one main thing being that he is very particular with is the way he composes his photographs are very practice and well thought out to get the best shot out of his work as in post production he don't like to crop or edit his photos to make them look any better or have a certain look. Cartier-Bresson has a very original and raw way of looking and taking photographs. |
The composition of this image looks like it has been somewhat placed, pert of me thinks that the mad was sat like that and then the photographer placed the camera in fount of the off one side of the mans face. This could be fore several reasons the main one i can think of is that the identity of the man in the photograph was wanted to be closed off and hidden from the audience and viewers of these photographs. This image is visually very well placed and there is quite a lot of things that visually I find nice to look at including the black and white. personally I really enjoy the visual aesthetic of black and white images as i feel like it gives you something to look at when also having to think and look harder at the image and objects within the image as you cant always figure out what an object or thing is in the images, this is mainly because as humans we see things with colours like if i was to say apple you would automatically thing green or red right? and that is the same with images or features that you can see in photography.
